In 2004, one day after my 27th birthday my lovely mom gave me one of her kidneys. Receiving the ultimate gift of life was THE BEST birthday gift I could have ever wished and prayed for! For 11 years, I enjoyed the freedom to live a completely normal and healthy life and for that, I am forever thankful! I never had any issues with my transplanted kidney. It functioned normal until, I came down with Valley Fever in December 2013. At the end of July 2015, I received some tough news, I was told I would need a 2nd kidney transplant and would need to start kidney dialysis immediately. While this was hard to hear, I knew my FAITH and the Grace of GOD would carry me through this journey I was about to begin. I now have dialysis treatments for 3 1/2 hours, 3 times a week.

Mayo Clinic in Phoenix has approved me for a 2nd transplant! Next step is to wait in HOPE and with PATIENCE, as I trust GOD for a living kidney donor. This life experience has taught me how to humble myself. Opening up about my journey has not been easy, but in sharing my experience I pray I can help others that are facing a similar challenge. Please feel free to share my story and if you know of anyone that is going through something similar and needs someone to talk to, I am here to listen and encourage.
